I've been so bored lately. When I was in college, we used to go to concerts all the time. Typically, it was little bands playing at some local dive. But every once in a while, we'd go to one of the big blow-out concerts with some major act. Now that I've got kids, it's a little harder. I mean, I guess I could get some Wachovia Center Tickets to see the Jonas Brothers or something, but thankfully my kids don't care anything about the Jonas Brothers.
More in lines with my tastes, I suppose there's Jones Beach Theater Tickets. They've got Nine Inch Nails or No Doubt coming through. Or if I'm feeling really quirky, I could go to the New Kids on the Block concert. My sister did, which would be too embarrassing to admit, except that she had a funny story from the concert. She was with a friend and they were busy geeking out over how to get backstage. Her friend said, "Maybe we can catch a ride with that guy" and pointed to a dude on the back of a golf cart thing. She didn't really care who "that guy" was. She just knew that he must be going backstage because the plebs don't get to ride around in golf carts at concerts. Sure enough, he was trying to go backstage, except that she was standing in his way. He was headed back there because he was about to do a concert. See, the guy was Donnie Wahlberg. lol My sister's friend is trying to catch a ride backstage to meet Donnie, without even realizing that she was looking all stalkerish in front of him. Oops.
I know a lot of people like sports, so they might be all about something like Arthur Ashe Stadium Tickets. It's not really my thing. Or rather, to be more accurate, there's not a lot of American sports I like. I hate football, baseball is worse, Nascar fans scare me, tennis makes me think of messing around with cats for the fun of it, and even something like soccer is kind of ho-hum. I like the more obscure sports. When we were in London the last time, my husband and I were fascinated by "bowls". It's not bowling. From what I understand, it's a lot more like Bocce Ball. lol And then there's rowing, which I find fascinating only because I used to do it in college. Otherwise, I suspect it would be dull too. But whatever. Different strokes... (yes, that was a rowing joke.)
